This year, in keeping with the "Libraries=Strong Communities" theme, we ask you to tell us how the library led you to something of value in your lives. And don't forget to follow Alexandria Library, the American Library Association, and I Love Libraries on social media and join the celebration on social media by using the hashtags #NationalLibraryWeek and #LibrariesTransform.

In honor of National Library Week – Sunday, April 7 through Saturday, April 13 – the Alexandria Library is offering FREE library card replacements. Customers may select from our special edition 225th and 80th anniversary commemorative library cards.**
During this week-long event, library cardholders have an opportunity to update their old library card free of charge. (Replacement card normally costs $2.00)
**While supplies last. These cards are in limited quantity.

It's Almost that Time Again! Time to Spring2ACTion!
Spring2ACTion, Alexandria’s Giving Day, will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2019! This 24-hour online giving event, presented by ACT, celebrates the commitment of local nonprofits to make Alexandria a better place to live, work, play and serve. Each year, the Alexandria Library Foundation looks forward to raising money that helps support Alexandria Library. Early giving starts March 27!
In 2018, the Foundation raised almost $3,500 in just 24 hours! Will you help donate this year?
Did you know? Alexandria Library has a rich history that spans two centuries! In 2019, the Library is celebrating its 225th year as an entity as well as the 80th anniversary of the historic 1939 Library Sit-In.
Throughout the year, all locations will provide programs and events to celebrate both anniversaries.
