Westbank Campus

The mission of the International School of Louisiana is to provide a challenging education emphasizing language immersion, international awareness, the celebration of diversity and community responsibility.

All Around Science
Our students are currently engaged with our "ALL Around Science" theme.  Science is a very important skill for our students to master and learn at a very young age.  We use science everyday. Whenever we turn around we can see science in action.
Family Liaison Corner

Dear families,

We are very excited to announce that we are in the process of creating a comprehensive enrichment program utilizing virtual reality headsets!

We need your help to make it happen! Would you give us your used mobile devices?
In an effort to expand this program to as many students as possible, we are seeking used mobile devices (both Apple and Android phones). For your convenience, we have attached a list of acceptable devices as well as an in-kind donation form that MUST be filled out and turned in with your device.

What do you need to do prior to turning them in?
  1. Please remove any SIM/microSD cards and do a factory reset
  2. Extra points if you include a charging cord for the device
  3. Bring your device to your campus, look for the IT representative in the cafeteria. We will be accepting devices on Wednesday, March 27th during early dismissal
Any questions, please contact Ashley Weiss at aweiss@isl-edu.org

You might have noticed a new face around campus. We would like to welcome Ms. Martha Macias to our school. Ms. Macias is here as an intern from Spain. Ms. Martha received her degree in Elementary Education. She will be helping out in S2C. If you see her walking around, please make sure you say hello and give her a warm New Orleans welcome.

Just a friendly reminder that March 27, 2019 will be a half day. School will dismiss at 12:00pm. Aftercare will not be provided. Please note that each child who isn't picked up by 12:00 will be assessed a $25 late fee per child. Please plan accordingly.

For the safety of others, this is just a friendly reminder that dogs are not allowed on school property.

Volunteers Needed
Are you interested in joining our Family Engagement Advisory Committee?  We're looking for parents or guardians to give input on next year's Family Engagement events and our School - Family Compact.  Volunteers for the Advisory Committee should be willing to attend 3-4 meetings outside of school hours, able to consider what is best for all families and students over what is best for their own family, and eager to contribute positively to the ISL community.  If you're interested in joining the Advisory Committee, email Susan Chapman schapman@isl-edu.org.
