Weekly E-News

March 21, 2019

This Sunday, March 24, at 10:30 am, "Stepping Out of That Boat Called Fear," Rev. Frank Clarkson Preaching
There’s so much fear around these days, you can catch it, like a cold, if you’re not careful. Many of us were taught, from an early age, to see the world through fearful eyes. Fear can be a powerful motivator. But at some point, you don’t want to live a fearful life anymore. You’re ready to step away from fear and take the hand that offers hope, and courage, and love. If you need this encouragement, we hope you’ll come to church this Sunday!

The Auction is This Saturday, March 23, at 6 pm!
The Auction is this Saturday, March 23 at 6:00pm! It’s a potluck dinner and a BYOB event. Come ready to have some fun and make the evening a success. If you can’t attend, you can still bid on items via proxy, just give us a call and place your bid.  You can preview a list of auction items here. Remember to bring a dish to share, a main course, an appetizer, a dessert, your choice! Don't forget to invite your friends! What a great opportunity to introduce folks to our unique UUCH camaraderie and culture.

March is Stewardship Month
Did you know that when we have a ministerial intern, it is a paid position that increases our current operating budget by about 4%? For the next 2 years we will host Sophia Lyons as our intern. We love our interns and embrace the opportunity to both learn from them and help them grow in our chosen faith.

Vespers on Wednesdays at 6 pm
During these weeks that lead up to Easter, we offer Vespers, a simple and quiet 30 minute service, followed by a warm meal in the Murray Room. We hope you can join us!

Reflecting on Salvation, March 31 at noon
Please join us next Sunday, March 31 for a conversation on the month's worship theme. This monthly small-group gathering offers an opportunity to reflect on the monthly theme, which for March is salvation. We meet in the minister's study at noon for about an hour, and we hope you'll join us!

Improve Our Democracy Saturday, March 30th
Greater Haverhill Indivisible invites everyone to join this public meeting for a presentation by the Ranked Voter Choice (RVC) team on Saturday, March 30th from 1 pm to 3 pm in the Murray Room. Ranked Voter Choice is a system with a great potential to save our democracy by ensuring that the candidates with the best ideas, not the biggest bank accounts, have a fair shot at running and winning. Rep. Andy Vargas will also join the meeting and update us about the progress of the RCV bill he cosponsored at the MA state House.   In the second hour of the meeting, we will discuss the national issues including Green New Deal and Medicare for all.

Thanks for reading – see you next week!
