Frost Seeding Pastures and Alfalfa Winter Kill 

The window for frost-seeding pastures has been relatively short this year, but now that the snow is mostly gone and the ground still freezes overnight pasture owners may want to consider frost-seeding now or interseeding pastures a bit later this spring.

March 26. Practical Farmers of Iowa and Sunderman Farm Management of Fort Dodge are hosting a cover crop field day at the Best Western Starlite Village in Fort Dodge from 4-7 p.m. More information

March 26.  The last winter session for our women's cohort, Agronomy in the Field will be offered by ZOOM from 6 to 8 p.m.  I will be leading the presentation "The Nitrogen Cycle, Nitrogen Sources, Application Methods and Timing."  If you need details on how to participate in this webinar please contact me. 

March 28.  Iowa Learning Farms and ISU Extension and Outreach are hosting a cover crop and no-till workshop at Titan Machinery near Williams from noon to 2 p.m. You can find more information in this press release.
