Boston Red Sox 2018 World Series Trophy Visits Golden View
Golden View had a very special visit on Friday, March 29. The Boston Red Sox 2018 World Series Trophy was proudly displayed at Golden View for three hours for residents, families and staff to enjoy. Many life-long Red Sox fans were able to see the trophy up close and pose for pictures next to it during this special event.

A Letter From Our Administrator On The Importance of SB 308
Golden View's Administrator Rosemary Simino has been working with the New Hampshire Health Care Association and other providers by testifying in Concord in support of Senate Bill 308.
Dear residents, families, staff and friends of Golden View,
I am writing today not only as the administrator of Golden View Health Care Center, but also as the daughter of a senior with Alzheimer's disease. We both depend on the skills and compassion of caregivers every day. Healthcare providers are doing their best to address workforce needs during New England's worst period of Medicaid underfunding, but we need the state assistance that the bipartisan Senate Bill 308 would provide.
SB 308 increases Medicaid funding, makes appropriations to the department of health and human services, rural health and primary care section to establish new positions and programs to develop and enrich the state's healthcare workforce. It also encourages more people to join the healthcare workforce by making an appropriation to the governor's scholarship program for scholarships to students majoring in a healthcare field. It also makes an appropriation to post-secondary educational institutions to develop and enhance programs offered in healthcare.
Right now New Hampshire does not have the workforce to meet the current health care needs of our residents or the state’s goal of integrating primary care, behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, and oral health. Now more than ever, we need New Hampshire’s citizens to let their legislators know how important SB 308 is.

Michelle Corbett Receives Barbara Whittier Scholarship

Medication nursing assistant Michelle Corbett was the recipient of Golden View Health Care Center’s annual Barbara Whittier Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to a full-time Golden View employee who is currently enrolled in or has received notification of acceptance into an institution of higher education in a curriculum related to long term care. Michelle is currently enrolled in a nursing program.
“I was thrilled for her to be awarded the scholarship; she works hard and is very deserving,” said Golden View assisted living administrator Heidi Murray. “Dedicated and motivated staff like Michelle are the reason Golden View provides opportunities for their employees to advance their careers not only internally but through scholarships such as this.”
A couple of our assisted living ladies decided to go out and enjoy one of the warmer days before the snow melted. Spring and snow--what a mix!
