Spring is Sprung! It's official! The days are getting longer. Not only that the clocks go forward at the end of March - great, lighter evenings!
Our next big event, the Children's Nearly New Sale is on Saturday, 30th March. Come and get a bargain.
Other dates for your diary are Roller Disco on 11th May and and the Plant Sale on 18th May. Do come and see us before then especially as the Coffee Shop will be open longer hours over Easter. See the times down below.
Did you buy some cake last weekend at The Centre from the kind young souls who were raising money for St John's Hospice? They did very well. Rather than have a birthday party, Leon’s Mum asked for donations for her favourite charity St John’s Hospice.
Then Leon had the great idea to have a cake stall and he organised it all. Those cakes looked and tasted delicious!
Leon and his school friends did a fabulous job and raised £201 for St John’s Hospice despite the terrible weather.
Talking about cake, not to mention eating it which I certainly enjoy, would anyone like to make and donate a cake or small cakes for the Children's Nearly New Sale? Whether it's a Victoria Sandwich, chocolate cake, fruit cake, iced buns, Swiss roll, or anything else, mmm, all will be appreciated.
The money raised by the Snack Bar as well as the raffle, tables hired, and entry to the sale, all these contribute to the Centre's fund-raising efforts - and we do want to get those new chairs we mentioned before. So if you can help, thank you very much!

CHILDREN'S NEARLY NEW SALE

Our next Children’s Nearly New Sale is on Saturday, 30th March 10am to 12 noon
All tables are sold out.
As usual you will find a wide variety of children’s goods, including nursery equipment, toys, clothes and relevant household items. If you haven't been to our wonderful Children's Nearly New Sale before, do come along, there is plenty to choose from.
Entry is 50p for adults, free for children.
There will be refreshments on sale including cakes, snacks, drinks etc and a raffle. There will also be refreshments in our Coffee Shop upstairs. Donations of cakes and raffle prizes are most welcome.
Volunteers to help on the day will also be very much appreciated.
Funds raised on the day will help to finance continuing improvements to our Centre and its facilities.

There is a Luncheon Club for the over 55s at The Centre this Friday, 22nd March with a talk by Ken Blamire, on 'Manchester to India' - his experience of the real India. As usual it starts at 10am with a tasty dinner, desert and hot drinks for only £5. Please book in advance with Maureen on tel: 01524 811316.
Luncheon Club will then have a break until after the Easter holidays, and will re-start on Friday April 26th with a talk by Steve Swithin - Last Night of the Tour Capers. Sounds intriguing? More information nearer the day.

We will be opening the Coffee Shop for longer hours over the Easter Holidays. From Monday, 8th April to Monday, 22nd April Coffee Shop is opening from 10am to 5pm. Weekends as normal time which is from 10am to 5pm.
Please note, however, that Coffee Shop will be closed all day on Easter Sunday April 21st.
From 4th May Coffee Shop will stay open later on Saturdays until 6pm.

Plant Sale on Saturday, 18th May.
Halton Gardening Group are holding their sale from 10am to 12 noon. Entry adults £1, children free.
Come and stock up with plants for your garden, flower beds, vegetable beds, greenhouses, hanging baskets, tubs etc, It's an opportunity to talk to the gardeners too, get some advice and tips.
There will be plant stalls, raffle and a cake stall. Donations of cakes and raffle prizes, and plants too are very welcome..
Tables can be booked to sell plants and garden related items, also produce like chutneys, jams and honey. To book a table, cost £10 per table. please contact Janet Theobald, email marketing@haltoncentre.org

There are nearly 3000 retailers to choose from. Once you have made your purchase the retailer will make a donation to us at no extra cost whatsoever.
Our next fund raising efforts will be for new chairs for the hall so all donations will be gratefully received.
