This monthly newsletter shares the latest news and updates from the UNSW Medicine Neuroscience, Mental Health and Addiction Theme and SPHERE Clinical Academic Group (CAG).
The Theme and CAG support the development of collaborative groups that bring together research, education and clinical partners to address the burdens imposed by neurological, mental health, and drug and alcohol disorders.

TEFLON aims to better deliver high-value care in reperfusion interventions by reducing treatment delays
Dr Sonu Bhaskar was awarded $40,000 in the 2017 round of Theme and CAG Collaborative Research Seed Funding for the project, Thrombolysis and Endovascular WorkFLOw Network (TEFLON) trial.
“This TEFLON model will provide improved efficiency in the delivery of reperfusion therapy across two major hospitals in Sydney, thereby potentially reducing healthcare costs, and improving collaborative workflow, stakeholder satisfaction and quality of life of stroke patients.”

Scientia Professor Helen Christensen awarded the Elizabeth Blackburn Fellowship in Public Health
Scientia Professor Christensen is Director of the Black Dog Institute and co-lead of the Children and Adolescent Wellbeing sub-theme of the Neuroscience, Mental Health and Addiction Theme and CAG.
