Project updates
In 2018, we began an exciting and innovative program funded by the Government of Alberta to create materials for low level language learners already in, or wanting to pursue careers in service and hospitality. The Working Faster, Working Safer materials are written for CLB 1-2 to develop language, essential skills and workplace culture knowledge to help participants work safer and more productively in the Canadian workforce. The materials include a workbook, a facilitators’ guide and 10 animated videos. They will be piloted in 2019. Look to our website for delivery locations and dates.
We also submitted a proposal in partnership with Trajectory IQ, a gamification software and services company dedicated to employee onboarding, orientation, and training, to digitize some of our materials to make them more accessible for learners in Canada and around the world. The Digitizing Workplace Resources is currently being implemented.
We have just launched a new national project with Adult Learning, Literacy and Essential Skills Program, Employment and Social Development Canada that will be provide Employment Counsellors with strategies for incorporating Essential Skills tools into their practice. The project began in March 2019 and will see us once again working across the country.
