Acorns easily links to your existing bank account and provides an excellent entry point into the world of investing.
It uses the equivalent of loose change to help you invest in a diversified portfolio that more or less mirrors major stock market indexes. There’s even a retirement plan that could be useful for freelancers or entrepreneurs.
Like most robo advisors, they are fairly conservative in their approach to investing. They tend to mitigate risk by using bonds and lower risk methods in the blend they offer users.
Still, an annual yield of let’s say 4% is better than none!
Users can have automatic debits come out of their account to consistently invest, or they have the option of “round ups,” which round purchases up to the nearest dollar amount and invests the remainder (like loose change in a piggy bank).
It also gauges where your investment and balance will be over time to give you decent insight on your future.
