Happy Spring!
It's been a while since we sent a newsletter, but like the flowers and trees waking up from their winter slumber, we are back with a bit of news and some new screens.  We hope your new year is off to a great start and you are as ready as we are for some warmer weather!

What have we been up to in the last few months?  Well, we have been fortunate to attend two major quilt shows.  Last fall we attended the International Quilt Festival in Houston for the first time.  Sue had a quilt in one of the special exhibits, so it was the perfect time to make the trip.  What a huge show!  It really is overwhelming to get through all the quilts and vendors, but also truly inspirational.  Then last month we went to Nashville for QuiltCon, the show of the Modern Quilt Guild.  This is a smaller show but equally inspirational.   We also had an opportunity to do some sightseeing and especially enjoyed dinner and live music at BB King's Blues Club.
In other news, Sue is proud that she can share some quilts that have been under wraps for a while.  Photos of her quilt from the Houston exhibit can finally be shared.  It was part of an exhibit called OURstory: Human Rights Stories in Fabric and commemorates the Washington DC Women's March in 2017.  The quilts will also be published in a book which is now available for preorder on Amazon.  Another quilt, The Bridesmaid, has been juried into Sacred Threads, a biannual national show of art quilts on themes of brotherhood, spirituality, grief, healing, joy and inspiration. This show will be held July 11-28 in Herndon, VA.  More info is available at the Sacred Threads website.
New Screens
Now for some updates in the Etsy shop.  We have added 3 new screens.  All three are available in both medium and large sizes (5x7 and 7x9).  This is a stemmed sunflower, not just the bloom. We also have Queen Anne's Lace in a bunch rather than individual flowers.  And third is the graphic image from a sewer cover which can add texture to your fabric.  Check out photos of prints of all three in the shop at https://www.etsy.com/shop/PGFiber2Art. Another change in the shop is that we have listed "taped" and "untaped" as options along with size for each screen listed, rather than needing to choose taped edges as a separate listing.  And another change in progress is reducing our shipping costs; please bear with us as we implement this change over the next couple of weeks.

We would like to offer you, our customers, a spring discount of 10% from now through the end of May.  Use the code SPRING2019 at checkout, or shop using this link. Feel free to share this code with any friends who may be interested
Upcoming Printing Class at Artistic Artifacts
Our next Thermofax printing class is on the schedule for May 18 at Artistic Artifacts, an amazing art and sewing store located on Eisenhower Avenue in Alexandria, VA.  If you have not been there yet, please do go check out the shop in person if you are able or online for all their wonderful supplies as well as classes.  Our class is Thermofax Technique Sampler; in which we will create 6x8 samples of up to 20 different printing techniques using various products. The pages can then be assembled into a book for future reference.   Beginner or experienced screen printers are welcome to join the fun as well as anyone who has previously taken our class.
