Next Meeting 29th March

How I Made It
N.B. This is a change from the Printed Programme

As the new version of PicturesToExe is not yet available, we have made a change to the Programme.

A few of our members will show & explain how they made a particular sequence.
This may be how they came up with the idea, if there were any challenges in taking the pictures or writing the script, or the technical details of how they created the sequence. We hope something for everyone.

AGM - 12th April
Don't forget that the following meeting on 12th April will be the AGM.
Please think of what you would like to see in next year's programme.

Workshop

We will hold the usual afternoon workshop session from 4:30 to help with any AV problems or questions you may have.

Please email the committee to let us know if you intend to come along and what you need help with.

Jill & John
on behalf of the WGAV Committee

Last Meeting 15th March
Challenge 321 International

A selection of entries from the 2018 Challenge 321 International Competition were shown. All the entries have to be a maximum of 3 minutes 21 seconds and appeal to an international audience.

Members gave marks to each entry, ranking them on - Imagery, Sounds, Production, Concept and Overall Feeling.
Lots of discussion followed each entry and it was interesting to see the wide range of opinions from the audience. Some of us agreed on the score, but others were very different.
The placings from the UK  & the worlwide judging were then revealed making for interesting comparisons.

The closing date for the 2019 competition is 31st March so only a few days left to submit your entry.
You could win an AV-Oscar as well as cash prizes for the top entries.

There will be the UK judging of the competition at Capel Curig, North Wales on Sunday 9th June.
Currently (22nd March) there are 59 entries from around the world.

See the AV News website www.avnews.org.uk for more details

Some club members do not travel to other events & competitions, so rarely see work outside of their own club. The idea of the exchange is to see work produced by different regions and to receive feedback. This is not a competition or to show new or the 'best' work from the club, but that from a range of members at all levels. It is more like a 'Members Sequence Evening' where the work is discussed & constructive comments made.
This way each Group will benefit from the comments & see a range of work at all levels from different areas.
