Announcements

The Arboretum at Flagstaff is recruiting for its 2019 Docent Training Program for community members who would like to share their deep love for our northern Arizona landscape with Arboretum visitors. Docents lead daily tours of the Arboretum grounds from April 15 – October 31, as well as school tours.

Training and materials are FREE. Classes are held every Monday, March 25 – April 22 from 9am-1:15pm at The Arboretum at Flagstaff.

Topics include the mission and history of the Arboretum, forest health, conservation, ecology and sustainability, botany and ethnobotany, horticulture and gardening techniques, and much more.  A full description of the docent program is available on The Arboretum’s website; http://www.thearb.org/support/volunteer/

Fires and Forests
May 4th, 9AM-1PM

Join Willow Bend and the Rocky Mountain Research Station to learn about fire ecology in Flagstaff, as part of National Wildfire Community Preparedness Day. Learn about plant and animal fire adaptations, fire management, and fire safety through displays and hands-on activities.

This event is FREE and open to the public. No need to RSVP, you are welcome to join anytime between 9am-1pm.
Earth Day!
April 20th
Bushmaster Park
 
We look forward to seeing you at the City's Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 20th in Bushmaster Park! The event will kick-off at 9 am with a community cleanup hosted by Arizona Conservation Corps! Free breakfast and a great drawing for all volunteers!

The main event begins at 11:00 am. Join us for performances by Sambatuque, F-Town Sound, and FoxyKoshka

KIDS: Explore the PALS Mobile, Learn how to ride a Mountain Line, and find Climate Solutions with a scavenger hunt!
