Traditional Knowledge Workshop
April 2-3, 2019
The Institut nordique du Québec’s First Peoples Working Group, with the financial support of the Société du Plan Nord and the Cree Nation Government, held a two-day workshop in Oujé-Bougoumou, Eeyou Istchee, to discuss the best ways for researchers and indigenous peoples to respectfully share and transfer indigenous and scientific knowledge.

The researchers, indigenous representatives and knowledge holders who attended the workshop discussed ways to increase the participation of indigenous communities in research.

A report will be published containing the results of the fruitful discussions held over the two days. The report will include recommendations about the tools that must be put in place to enable greater community participation in research.
