Celebrate the end of season with us this Saturday, 4/6 at 3:30pm. Enjoy food, drinks and socializing with your fellow LEGGERS and join us in congratulating our fastest LEGGERS and season VIPs, who will be announced at the party. The $35 price is available online through end of day Thursday, or it is $45 at the door. We hope to see everyone there!

Letting you all know that this will be our last weekly enews for the 2018-2019 season, and we'll be communicating at less frequent intervals for the next couple of months. We'll announce any off-season news plus 2019-2020 season info when we have it. Also, please remember to pick up any items left in the marathon support bins this Sat 4/6 at 1450 by 9:15am.
Though we are now officially in our off-season, you can still show up any Saturday at 1450 around ~7am and find LEGGERS to run with. We'd also love if you could join us for our mentor (4/13 7am) and member (4/27 7am) debriefs at 1450 to provide us with your feedback on the season.

Remembering Elizabeth Peterson Ghaffari, 1st LEGGERS President

Sharing the news of the passing of Elizabeth Peterson Ghaffari, our first board President back in 1990. She and her husband were instrumental in the formation of the LEGGERS, and we owe our gratitude to her for the club we all love and benefit from today.

In 1990 she and Fereydoon became involved in a running group, the LA Leggers, that was started to help runners train for marathons and to avoid injury. Realizing the need for the group to incorporate to stay alive as an all-volunteer entity, Elizabeth was voted in as first president of the board of directors and was able to spearhead programs for procuring sponsorships. The Leggers are still training and running marathons, nearly 30 years later.
