Big news! The paperback version of The Myth of the Nice Girl comes out on April 16th, one year after the hardcover was released. My impending book anniversary has given me the chance to reflect on this past year: I've done more than 70 talks and 50 press interviews, and connected with thousands of women and men who love the book’s message. It's been surreal to see the critical acclaim the book has received.

During this time, it's become clear that advising real women on their career questions and challenges is what truly energizes me. This month’s topic in my Refinery29 column is Hepeating aka how to get your ideas heard without others taking credit for them. Sound familiar?

I’m also proud to have been able to share the book's lessons in both intimate workshops and online courses—check out the latest one I’ve done with GenConnectU and if you missed the "Fundraise Like a Pro" session that Randi Zuckerberg and I hosted, it's archived here. Thank you for those who joined—due to the amazing response, we are launching an in-person, hands-on version where we'll help each founder create a personalized plan!

And finally, to bookmark this incredible year, I’m hosting a Book Giveaway on my Instagram page— check out this post for how you can win a copy for you and a friend. Thank you for all you have done to support me, the book, and each other! It truly feels like a dream.

TIP / Don't Be Afraid to Ask

I love Tiffany Pham’s new book Girl Mogul and its mission to remind teens that they are fierce, bold, unique, brilliant, driven, and empowering (it comes out tomorrow!). I was honored to share my perspective on mentorship for the book: “ While there’s a limit to how many dollars you can invest, there’s no limit on the number of young women you can inspire. Mentorship is my way of paying it forward. So don’t be afraid to reach out. Ask for a meeting, a relationship, an internship. We are looking for you, the leaders of the next generation. We are more than ready and willing to lend a hand to help you reach your goals.”

Win it: The first five people to respond to this email will receive a free copy of Girl Mogul!

My Startup Life

I recently met Mara Lecocq, the founder of Secret Code. It’s an empowering customizable children’s book that stars *your* girl as a tech hero. It also comes with its own AR coding game that teaches kids coding principles by bringing robots to life in their living room. This makes for a great gift and isn’t just for girls...my boys love reading the book!

Womaze is a bright light in a sea of negative content. The app's founders are a mom and three daughters who are sharing content and tools on self-care and mental wellness to help us all feel more supported, understood, and empowered. Download the app and help fund their development!
