Nils Abramson (1931–2019)
With sadness we celebrate the life and work of Nils Abramson. He was a pioneer of hologram interferometry and developed the light-in-flight holographic recording technique. Through diagrams and geometry he taught holography and theories on relativity. Abramson was an inspiration to all he met and who encountered his work.
Tina Kohlmann was awarded the 2019 Pulse Laser Holography production residency after participating in 2018 workshop. (image her of pulse laser recording above)
The program offered in conjunction with Ohio State University will also enable 10 artists this year to participate in two Pulse Laser Holography Workshops.
To promote engagement with holographic artwork the HoloCenter – Center for the Holographic Arts, develops and presents free exhibitions. Our Space:Light and Pulse Laser Holography programs support artistic experimentation with spatial and optical media. We inspire and educate with workshops that combine art, science and technology.
