Families Moving Forward - April 10

Families Moving Forward (FMF) offers a temporary home to families with children in the crisis of homelessness.  FMF creates a path to stability and self-sufficiency through personalized services and ongoing community support. At its downtown Durham facility, FMF provides emergency shelter and supportive services to 21 families at a time. The case management staff meets with every family to set family goals that address educational, vocational, health and emotional needs.

Three local congregations (Judea Reform Congregation, Immaculate Conception, and Westminster Baptist) partner to provide meals and childcare for one week per quarter (Monday-Thursday). This volunteer effort enables FMF to provide essential programming to both current residents and after-care families.

Join us in the mitzvah of providing dinner and helping with childcare so FMF resident parents can attend classes. Our next night is Wednesday, April 10. We need to provide dinner; assist with set-up, serving and clean-up; and provide child care during the adult programming from 5:30-7:30. Please sign up to join us! Questions? Please contact lay leader Tina Prinstein.
