Are you a student in recovery at the University of South Carolina? Make your voice heard! Gamecock Recovery administers its Campus Recovery Survey in order to improve services like our recovery coaching program, weekly peer support meetings, and student leadership opportunities. Please take a moment to complete and share with other UofSC students in recovery.

Meetings and Workshops

This spring semester, Gamecock Recovery is holding a collection of weekly and monthly recovery meetings and social events.

Friends & Family Support understands that addiction affects the whole family. This weekly group meeting for students affected by a loved one's addiction provides education, resource navigation, and ongoing support needed to address substance use disorder in a healthy and constructive way.

Recovery Meditation is a weekly mindfulness meditation workshop facilitated by our Recovery Coordinator, Larkin. These workshops are designed to incorporate mindfulness practices and tools into recovery.

All Recovery meetings are based on the idea that there are great benefits to bringing people together from multiple recovery pathways. This meeting honors all pathways to recovery, acknowledging that each person’s path is unique and reflects their personal strengths. These meetings are an opportunity for social support that focuses on the hope and healing found in recovery and to connect with others who are initiating and maintaining a recovery lifestyle.

Self-Management and Recovery Training (SMART Recovery) provides self-empowering, science-based mutual aid for abstaining from any substance or activity addiction.  The SMART Recovery approach centers on helping individuals enhance and maintain motivation to abstain from addictive behaviors, cope with urges, manage thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and cultivate lifestyle balance. “Introduction to SMART Recovery”

Our monthly speaker series, ARISE (Addiction & Recovery-Informed Seminar) returns this month! This series is designed to provide a platform for recovery voices and create a community forum where students are able to explore different dimensions and perspectives on addiction and recovery so as to enrich academic discovery and support their development as informed citizens.
