We have been selected as a project for District 7 Participatory Budget voting for a District 7 visual street safety campaign (“D7 Street Safety Poster + Transit Campaign Project”) focusing on 10 strategies for pedestrian and street safety. In partnership with the Office of District 7 Supervisor Norman Yee and Vision Zero partners, high school youth printmakers and a faculty artist will develop a series of easily read, graphic posters to promote street safety featuring District 7 priorities and neighborhood safety concerns to people of all ages and backgrounds. Posters will be translated into multiple languages and developed into a transit campaign that will run throughout District 7 public transportation shelters, buses, and trains.

Vote online April 1 through April 14 or in person at Ingleside and West Portal libraries as well as Supervisor Yee’s office at City Hall (room 268).
Vote for: “D7 Street Safety Poster + Transit Campaign Project” under “Neighborhood Services”
Voting eligibility: Anyone 16 or older who lives in D7 is eligible to vote (Do I live in District 7?)

Uprooted & Rising aims to create a culture shift through public action, digital organizing, and creative storytelling that uplifts and centers the ideas and experiences of those who have been marginalized by corporate control and white supremacy in our food system. The movement includes students, workers, faculty, food producers, and community members that institutions of higher education are meant to serve. Regional Trainings are designed to introduce and engage participants in our movement for Food Sovereignty. We plan to discuss the issues of corporate control and white supremacy in our food system and introduce our plan for a food system that nourishes us all.
