ASTEROID DAY HIGHLIGHTED EVENT

GRONINGEN, THE NETHERLANDS

Researchers at the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute at the University of Groningen and the Netherlands Institute for Space Research (SRON) came together to organize an Asteroid Day Pub Quiz.

The event, hosted by DOT Groningen planetarium, was attended by over 50 people, non-astronomers and astronomers alike. The quiz had 4 categories: General Asteroid Knowledge, Asteroid History, Near-Earth Objects, and Asteroids Pop Culture. Each round of the quiz was followed with a small presentation so everyone could learn even more about asteroids. The researchers also brought a meteorite from the university museum to show to the audience.

You can download the full quiz for your own Asteroid Day event here!
