- Connect with friends, family, and services that support participation.
- Create by engaging in activities that promote learning, health, and personal enrichment.
- Contribute time, talent, and life experience to benefit others.
Older Americans Month 2019 will include suggestions, resources, and material to celebrate older Americans and the communities of which they are a vital part. Visit acl.gov/oam in early 2019 for ways to get started, and starting now, promote the observance on social media using #OAM19 and #ConnectCreateContribute.

BRADD Board Chairman, Steve Thurmond honored Howard Dickson, the appointed Metcalfe County citizen board member, for his service to the BRADD board of directors. Dickson, of Edmonton, has been on the board of directors for 6 years and contributed to BRADD in numerous ways during his two terms as board member. Dickson became affiliated with BRADD through his 21 year service with the City of Edmonton. Howard recently retired from the City of Edmonton spending the last 7 years as their Superintendent of Public Works. Thurmond honored Dickson as a “true friend of BRADD.” BRADD Executive Director added his history with Dickson began over 30 years ago and considers Dickson not only a Friend of the BRADD but a true friend and civic-minded citizen. “Howard is the example of a servant leader,” said Chairman Steve Thurmond. The Barren River Area Development sends our most humble appreciation and kind regards for Howard Dickson and his service to the City of Edmonton, Metcalfe County and the BRADD region.
