AGM
At the TASC AGM held on 27th March 2019, 3 new trustees were appointed:
Trevor Hedges, Kay Hedges and Louise Williams.
Trevor and Kay live in Shropshire and are well known on the borders for their involvement with the band Rapsquillion and dancing adroitness with Shropshire Bedlams/Martha Roden’s.
Louise is based near Builth Wells. She has a long and active interest in step dancing and also plays a bit of fiddle, she is also involved with Wyeside Arts Centre and Mid Powys Youth Theatre.
TASC is delighted to welcome these talented people and what will be their exciting original input.
Thanks were again expressed to Philip Freeman for all his input over the years following his retirement and we also lost the services of Claire Short, another supporter of everything that happens in Llandinam.

Step dancing Update from Lisa Sture
Sidmouth Fok Festival again has a strand of the festival on stepdancing and I and Jenny have been asked to present. I will be talking about the tradition and Jenny will be talking about creativity within the tradition. There will also be a panel discussion on the role of competition in stepdancing as well as the usual two evenings where musicians play specifically to support percussive dance, usually most of the UK styles are represented, it is quite wonderful.
There will be a new stepdance competition at the Okehampton Fair this year. They are very keen and supportive. I am thinking about how to do it a bit differently. Talks are also underway to establish an annual competition at the Devon County Show, kicking it off with a guinness book of records world championship event to see how many people we can get to stepdance together in one place!
STEPPING ON: A CONFERENCE ON STEPPING IN DANCE
16-17 November 2019, Cecil Sharp House, London - This is an exciting step forward and I have submitted a proposal called, "Dartmoor Stepdancing: Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow". I will hear by the end of May whether it has been accepted
