Empowering children and teens to embrace and express their inherent divinity.

Director's Note

"I choose my good based on spiritual understanding."  The faculty of Will is our ability to choose, decide, command, lead, determine.  Often confused with the 'grit-your-teeth-and-push-through' ability called willpower, Will originates in the soul and is a process of discernment and moving forward.  Of Unity's 12 Powers, this is the one that I am working on (and with) most these days.  It is a great tool for healthy living, creating balance, and achieving our loftiest goals.  Think of it as your executive faculty, the directive power of your mind.  It will help you become "receptive to spiritual motivation, rather than to goals determined by ... materialistic pursuits alone." (Winifred Wilkinson Hausmann)The best and highest goals are borne in the soul, by the gentle whispers of the indwelling Divine.  Will guides us to choose the right pursuits and gives us command over our lesser natures to lead us to success.  When we choose our good based on spiritual understanding, that auspicious genesis will lead to extraordinary outcomes.

We need teachers for all of our classes!  It takes a village to raise our children and teens up in Unity, and we're reaching out to you!  Help us by giving us one or two Sundays a month that you'll teach in Soul School.  We have wonderful teacher-friendly curriculum that will teach you as much about Spirit as it does our youth.  See Kate.

This Week's Angel Affirmation:  “The achievements of the body and mind must originate in the soul."

This Sunday in Soul School

Soul School starts at 10:25 am, with our Sacred Circle, where we share the Daily Word, our affirmations for the week, and our Love Offerings.  Please sign-in your child(ren) in the Garden Room by 10:20 am, so we can get started on time.

We are now planning our Youth-Led Service that will take place on May 5.  Please bring your child(ren) to Soul School as often as possible to help create and rehearse this special service.

Unitots (Infant - Pre-K):  Loving childcare in a free-play environment.

Unikids (Gr. K - 2): Celebrating My God-Self 3 - "How Do We Celebrate?"  We explore and experience ways in which we celebrate as a family.  We read and discuss The Flood; and make Appreciation Ribbons.

Unitweens (Gr. 3 - 5): All Together Now 2 - "Active Meditation."  We can stay aware of God within in all our actions.  We experience a Focusing on God activity; and do a Walking Meditation outside.

Uniteens (Gr. 6 - 8): Making and running our Breakfast with the Uniteens.  Uniteens should meet in the Unity kitchen at 9 am and plan to stay until 1 pm to clean up.

YOU (Gr. 9 -12):  At the WAWE in Minnesota.

Easter Egg Hunt on April 21 after Service

Join us for this fun annual tradition as Soul School students hunt for colorful eggs filled with candy and other treats!  Rain, snow or shine, we'll have a great time celebrating the sweet side of the season!  The hunt will take place after Soul School and children are welcome to bring their own baskets to collect their eggs.

We'll then empty the eggs (so the Easter Bunny can use them again next year) and children will get one more special gift.

Breakfast with the Uniteens This Sunday!

Our Uniteens and members of Kate's SpiritGroup come together to create a delicious hot breakfast that includes pancakes (regular and gluten-free), scrambled eggs (and fixin's bar), hash browns, bacon, fruit salad, juice and more.  Proceeds support their attendance at the Spring Unitreat in Wisconsin.

$10/plate or $25/family.  Enjoy a yummy breakfast and support our Uniteens!

Uniteens should meet in the Unity kitchen at 9 am, and plan to stay until 1 pm to clean up.
