Special Update

Dell Diamond Participation Canceled

First, we would like to thank each and every person who already signed up to volunteer to work at the Dell Diamond or have already obtained their TABC license. We recognize the size of the commitment you have made and wanted to thank you again for stepping up.

Unfortunately as of this afternoon we must withdraw from our commitment to work at the Dell Diamond. After a series of conversations and emails with RS3, the company that coordinates volunteer organizations at Dell Diamond, we felt we were being asked to extend our volunteers responsibilities beyond what seemed reasonable.

The requirement of our participation in orientation and training classes changed dramatically this year, and they were asking that all of our volunteers go through an additional 90 minutes of classes before working at the Dell Diamond. In the past we have asked that the team leads attend these sessions and then share the information with our volunteers. Unfortunately that was not an acceptable compromise this year. While this is reasonable to ask of full time workers, it was not something we could ask of our volunteers who have already given so much of their time and effort.  So, we sent an email withdrawing our involvement from the Dell Diamond concessions work this afternoon. This does not limit us from being able to pursue this as a fundraising opportunity in the future. We just won't participate this season.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused anyone who went through the effort to get their TABC license or signed up to volunteer. In the end, this decision was made in the best interest of our volunteers and band family.

Rain Plan for Saturday

It appears that we will have to deal with Mother Nature at least one more time this school year. The forecast for Saturday does not look like it will fully cooperate with our Mattress Sale and Garage Sale fundraisers.

We do have a plan in place to make sure we are prepared as possible for this potential outcome.

If there is rain expected on Saturday morning, we will set up the Garage Sale in the 100 Gym of RRHS. The Mattress Sale will be set up in the 100 Building entryway (Student Center). It could be a tight fit, but we should be able to make it work.

If there appears to be SEVERE weather Saturday morning, we will cancel the Garage Sale. We will ask that anyone who intended to bring a donation or to volunteer NOT do so if the decision is made to cancel. In the event that the Garage Sale is canceled, items previously dropped off will be donated to the Salvation Army and/or the Round Rock Serving Center.

The Mattress Sale will continue as planned rain or shine.

A final decision will be made Friday Evening by 7:00 PM. We will notify everyone via email and through social media. Make sure you check in Friday night to know what's going on.

Thank you!
