SLA is Celebrating Earth Day!
SLA is committed to the students, schools, and communities it serves. This commitment shines through in the food we serve, the service we provide, and the eco-friendly initiatives we take to support a cleaner environment. We take ownership and pride in the small, yet impactful ways we are contributing toward a greener tomorrow for our students and their families. Here are some of the many ways we are celebrating Earth Day, every day.
Greener Cleaning Solutions:
We switched to all-green, eco-friendly cleaning solutions in all of our kitchens.
Paperless Transition:
We are working toward becoming a paperless organization by hosting our menus online and offering digital signage to many of our schools.

Eco-friendly Trays:
we use environmentally friendly service containers, meaning all our lunch trays are compostable.
SLA is constantly exploring new, socially-responsible ways to do what we do in a “greener” fashion. We truly care about the families we feed, and treat them as an extension of our own. It’s why we continue to provide a premier food service program that nourishes healthy minds, bodies, and communities.
Earth Day Dirt Cup Recipe
 
Ingredients (Serves 4)

1 Pack Instant Chocolate Pudding 3.9 OZ | 2 Cups Milk 
8 Oreo Cookies, Crushed | Gummy Worms and/or Mint Leaves

Directions:
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine instant pudding mix and milk.
    Whisk for 2 minutes. Scoop 1/2 Cup portion into a dessert dish.
    Refrigerate for 5 minutes.
  2. In a clear sandwich bags, place Oreo, seal, and crush.
    Sprinkle Oreo crumbs on top of chocolate pudding and garnish with Gummy Worm and/or Mint Leaves.

National Grilled Cheese Day
April 12

Let's celebrate one of the best comfort foods on the planet. We'll be serving up a couple of new takes on the oh so delicious buttery, gooey, grilled cheese sandwich. These are sure to melt your heart!

 
Earth Day
April 22

Earth Day, celebrated on April 22 each year, is a day set aside to promote learning about the importance of protecting the environment. To show our support in this educational effort in a fun way, SLA is offering a special Dirt Cup dessert with every lunch meal served.
