In the Spotlight

Looking Back: Inclusion in sport recreation and physical education for people with autism and developmental disability

April is the month the sector shines a light on Autism through the World Autism Acceptance/Awareness Day. With around 1 in every 100 people being affected buy autism,  awareness is becoming less of a challenge and instead, public conversation is driving acceptance to be one of the primary objectives of the initiative.

AAA Play had the privilege to once again increase accessibility to the recent
Sport Inclusion Community of Practice Presents hosted by Sport and Recreation Victoria, by live streaming the event from Phoenix College in Ballarat.

The event celebrated World Autism Day with a focus on Inclusion in sport, recreation, and physical education for people with autism and developmental disability. The exceptional standard of speakers included local researchers Dr Stephen Edwards, and Kieran Thorpe from Federation University, Founder of AAA Sport Ballarat, Kellie Tait, and Elise Muller, Founder of Active Support.

You can watch the full live video here or preview a small snippet of Elise Muller's engaging talk by clicking the image below.
