1. WAKE UP!
You’ve been waiting for today for months. Before you head to the port, memorize your cabin number (<<Cabin>> - you’ll need it multiple times today) and locate your passport or other identification and Norwegian e-docs.

2. GET YOUR DOCUMENTATION IN ORDER
Have your documents (passport or other documentation & eDocs) IN YOUR HAND when you arrive at the port or you’ll have trouble getting through the door. Don’t pack them in your suitcase. They belong in your hand or carry-on. *If you forgot your eDocs or are unable to print them out, please proceed to the port with valid passport or other documentation.

 3. HEAD TO THE TERMINAL
Once you arrive at the port, look for the terminal with our Runaway to Paradise banners! We will be at Terminal B. (You will see Norwegian Jade docked there, ready and waiting for you!)

4. YOU’RE HERE! TAXI/SHUTTLE/CAR CHECK
Did you get all of your stuff out of the vehicle you arrived in? Are you sure? (You’d better be holding that passport like your life depends on it by now.)

5. LUGGAGE DROP
Need to check a bag? Porters are on hand to make sure your luggage gets on board safely. A gratuity of $1 per bag is a customary suggestion for assistance. Cabins will be ready by 2:00pm, but should you choose to check your bags, know that they may be delivered as late as 8:00pm, so keep items you’ll need until then in a carry-on. If you’re bringing wine or champagne, you MUST carry these on. If left in checked luggage, they may be confiscated.

DO NOT PUT YOUR PASSPORT OR OTHER IDENTIFICATION IN YOUR CHECKED BAGS.

6. SECURITY CHECKPOINT
You can keep your shoes on, but belts and laptops will need to go into a bin for screening. Also, wine and champagne (see #7 below) need be taken out. Throw away open drink containers and empty your pockets. Remember, no other beverages may be brought on board. Once through security, double check that your passport or other documentation is still with you.

ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES OF ANY KIND WILL NOT BE TOLERATED

7. WINE & CHAMPAGNE CHECK
If you brought wine or champagne, stop at the table immediately after security to pay the corkage fee of $15.00 each for a 750 ml bottle, $20.00 each for 1,000 ml Bottles, or $30.00 each for a 1,500 ml Magnum. Have your cabin number (<<Cabin>>) available.

8. HEALTH QUESTIONNAIRE
Next, someone will hand you a short health questionnaire. Fill out one per person and keep it in your hands (with your passport or other documentation) until you reach the agent at the check-in counter. You’ll need your cabin number (<<Cabin>>) here too.

9. CHECK IN
You’ll need a method of payment*, Norwegian eDocs, a completed health questionnaire and your PASSPORT or BIRTH CERTIFICATE & ID. Be prepared for a quick photo (no hats or sunglasses allowed).

*If planning on opening a cash account, you will set that up at the Guest Services Desk (Atrium, Deck 7,MID), once you board the ship. (Minimum deposit is $150 per person.)

10. ALL ABOARD!
If the ship’s previous sailing has not cleared US Customs yet, you may have a short wait.  Grab a seat and start making friends –  this is your “boat family” for the next few days! If the ship has cleared, you will be directed to the gangway to board the ship.

Local sales tax (7%) is applied to all onboard bar and food purchases (including drinks redeemed through beverage packages) until we reach 9 nautical miles from the coast, approximately 1.5 hours after sailing away from Miami.
A fixed service charge (gratuity) of $14.50 per person per dayfor interiors, ocean views, balconies, and mini-suites and $17.50 per person per day for suites will be applied to your onboard spending account. These minimum service gratuities are agreed to be paid by you upon booking your stateroom. Click here for more details. In addition, a 20% gratuity will apply for any onboard beverage purchases, including beverage packages.
Did you know that we high five every single guest as they board the ship? Your cruise Warrior, Sixthman Jayne, will be standing at the top of the gangway with her high five hand ready to welcome you. It’s one of our favorite Sixthman traditions and our way of letting you know that your vacation has officially begun!
