Refugee Benefit Concert
Saturday, April 6

Stanford Memorial Church

Join the Muslim Student Union in Memorial Church for a benefit concert in support of the global refugee crisis, co-sponsored by the Office for Religious Life. This eclectic student showcase will feature voices and talents from the Stanford community, united to raise awareness for all those displaced by war, famine and other humanitarian disasters. All proceeds from this event will go to the International Rescue Committee (IRC), an organization that works to help those affected by humanitarian crises around the globe. Tickets are $7 and may be purchased at bit.ly/refugeebc19.

University Public Worship

Memorial Church has historically been an important center of spiritual and ceremonial life at Stanford University since the church was dedicated in 1903. It is open to anyone, wherever you may be on your spiritual journey. Please join us at University Public Worship, Sunday mornings at 10:00 am in this spectacular and sacred venue.

Ekpedeme "Pamay" Bassey '93, Chief Experience Officer of the "My 52 Weeks of Worship Project," will be preaching. There will be a talk-back lunch with Ms. Bassey in the Round Room after the service.

Compline

Compline (pronounced “komp-lin”) is a reflective, contemplative 30-minute service of hymns, anthems and chant sung by Stanford and local choral ensembles in the tranquil candlelit ambiance of Memorial Church. All are welcome. 

Mindful Yoga

Enjoy yoga stretches in the dappled morning light. Within a flowing sequence of postures, this class provides instruction for a balanced yoga practice grounded in alignment, breath, and peace of mind. While this class focuses on fundamentals for beginners, experienced practitioners are welcome. Please bring your yoga mat.

What Matters to Me and Why

The What Matters to Me and Why series encourages reflection on matters of personal values, beliefs, and motivations in order to better understand the lives and inspirations of those who shape the University. The fourth talk of this year's series features Professor Priya Satia who specializes in modern British and British empire history, especially in the Middle East and South Asia.

Organ Recital: Annette Richards and David Yearsley

Husband and wife organists David Yearsley and Annette Richards from Cornell University present a recital of music by Johann Sebastian Bach and his sons. No tickets required. $10 suggested donation.

Honoring Lives, Remembering Losses

In light of the recent losses in our community, we invite you to come together for a service of hope and healing. Light candles to honor those who have died; take in soothing music and sacred readings about loss and hope. All losses, whether recent or in the past, will be honored. Refreshments will be served in the Round Room after the service.
