Let's Unite for World Parkinson's Day - APRIL 11

Dear Shake It Up Supporter,

The final countdown is on as we approach World Parkinson's Day on Thursday 11th April and right throughout the month events are taking place around the country to raise awareness and funds to help find better treatments and a cure for Parkinson's.

The corporate support for our Pause 4 Parkinson's campaign continues to grow from strength to strength each year. Thank you to Noel Holmes Group and The Daily Press, Tellum, PD Warrior, Tricor Dormers, Active Trees, Insurance Advisernet, Novotech, Reliant Healthcare, Hutchinson Builders and Audi Five Dock for their support.

Our Campaign this year aims to raise awareness of Young Onset Parkinson’s and the prevalence of women living with the disease.  Keep an eye out for our television commercial which is running on all free to air stations throughout April. Thanks to the amazing support of oOh Media roadside billboards and digital screens in shopping centres, cafes, gyms and offices will also be bringing awareness to the number of Australians that are impacted by the disease.

We guarantee that 100% of your donation will go to Parkinson's research targeted at finding better treatments and ultimately the cure.  This is made possible by  our founders covering all the administration and overhead costs of the foundation

With one Australian diagnosed with Parkinson's every 40 minutes, we need your support. Let's all unite for Parkinson's this April and commit to making a difference. Join us by hosting your own event or by making a donation to research.

From all of us at Shake It Up thank you for your continuing support.

Could Parkinson's have a distinct smell

Joy Milne’s husband was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at age 45. Years later she told doctors that she had noticed a change in her husband’s smell. That revelation led to a research study where she identified people with Parkinson’s by smelling shirts they had worn.
