Starkbier
Starkbier is another name for the doppelbock style of beer. Brewed to be consumed by monks in Munich during the Lenten season, this is the specific kind of beer the term "liquid bread" was first attributed to. German Starkbiers can all be indentified by the -tor suffix on the end of the brand, as in Paulaner Salvator.
