Using the ChimSpect app and software chimney inspection and report writing app is still the fastest and most accurate system on the planet for standardizing inspection methods for you and all of the members on your team. I am going to start sending out tips and videos to help you understand how to best use the ChimSpect app. I will try to keep the videos short. There are 3 videos in the first part of this letter. Everyone should pay attention to the first video! Even our veteran uses occasionally make this mistake and it can cause a report to not save properly or even kick you out and require you to reactivate your device. The other videos answer the most frequently asked questions using the ChimSpect app. None of these videos are very long. Even if you are a veteran user it will be a good refresher to watch these videos!

Common entry mistakes:A very common mistake especially on an iOS (Apple) device is entering the sign for inches ( " ) when entering a measurement in any field that is used to calculate math. This can cause the report to act erratically. To see an example of this next time you are doing an inspection. Insert a hearth measurement that is too small to pass code. See the exclamation mark popup and alert you the measurement is too small. Now add the ( " ) symbol. The exclamation mark goes way. So never add the inch symbol in these fields. Adding the inch symbol can cause other issues, such as the report failing to save the measurements, failure for the report to upload properly, failure for the report to generate a printable report, or even make your device need to enter a new activation code.
