Significance of contribution:
This would be the first comprehensive book mapping Multifaith diversity in Canada’s spiritual & religious care (chaplaincy). It aims to provide anecdotes, case studies, reviews, reports, trends in spiritual & religious care in all walks of life.

Intended Audience:
It will be a good read for chaplains, spiritual and religious care volunteers, researchers, administrators, policymakers, students, psychosocial counselors, healing and spiritual therapists, faith communities, social workers, nursing professionals, academicians in religious studies, spirituality, sociology, and humanities.

Proposed Topics:
The book will have three sections. The first section will focus on spiritual & religious care in a specific sector, such as prison, healthcare, police, fire, armed forces, campus, workplace, sports, community, etc. The second section will focus on broader areas of policies, theory or practice (and not limited to one single sector or institution). The third section will focus on faith-based chaplaincy, for example, Anglican Chaplaincy, Buddhist Chaplaincy, Orthodox Chaplaincy, etc.

Proposal:
Contributions are invited from chaplains, clergy and scholars from various professions, faiths, cultures and disciplines. If you are interested, please submit a brief bio, with a description to include:

  2. Scope note: place and time; theory or practice
  3. Identifying its fitness around the proposed topic(s), and
  4. Describing up to five reasons why your chapter will appeal to the targeted audience.
Please send proposals to: cmfsrc@cmfsrc.ca  adding: ‘Book Chapter Submission’ in the subject line.

Contributions will be selected primarily based on the quality of the proposal and the relevance to the book's topic. Proposals which do not fit the criteria will be rejected and authors will be informed. The final decision will rest with CMF.

The book will be published by CMF as part of its Multifaith Publication Series.
