April Showers
April 2019

April is a very busy month for me, two birthdays (mom and oldest Daughter) and two Doll Shows - Toledo and Tucson.

Yes, i will be at the Toledo Doll Show. I have been wanting to come to this show for years and yes, I'm probably going to freeze my butt off but I know it will be lots of fun anyway. I hope all of you will come by to say HI.

I decided to start holding a Doll Show in Tucson AZ again. The southwest is beautiful this time of year and well worth the trip if you ever wanted to go somewhere to warm up. We have wondrous mountain that surround this lovely valley, and the wildflowers are in abundance this year. Even if you can't make it this time, there is always next year.

The Power of Facebook

I cannot empathize this enough. If you do not have a presence on Facebook for your business/organization or for your event, you are missing out on one of today's best forms of advertising. I know, I know. Many people don't like Facebook and some down right hate it. But it is important! Even more so than email.

Don't get me wrong. It takes some work! But compared to other forms of advertising such as online calendar submissions (very time consuming) or printed advertising (extremely expensive), it is well worth it. Once your page is set up, it only takes a few minutes 2 -3 times a week to keep it updated.

I am happy to consult with anyone to help you get this going. Fees are now listed on the Submit Event page of the site although discounts are available under certain circumstances..

If you just don't think you can do it, be sure to always submit your listing as a "DELUXE" listing where Facebook event is included.

Let me help you to continue to grow your event and keep doll shows alive! Email me at Karen@dollshowusa.com today for details.

In Praise of Dolly Faced Dolls

Posted March 1, 2019 in Dolls

Collectors and dealers alike are no doubt familiar with the phrase “it’s a common German doll” used in reference to the many Dolly Faced dolls produced from the 1870s to the 1930s. But it behooves us to stop and consider why there are so many of these dolls, why they were made over such a long period of time and why they are in fact most often the first doll purchased by today’s doll collectors. The simple answer is they are pretty dolls!
