Lawyers and Climate Change: Third National Conference of Lawyers Committed to Addressing the Climate Emergency

On April 18, 2019, a group of leading lawyers and law professors will convene in person at locations across the United States to discuss the problem of climate change and the role of lawyers in advancing solutions. The locations will all be linked by live video/audio feeds. This is the third year in a row for this national conference on this important subject. This year’s conference will feature leading experts addressing the most important aspects of the climate crisis from a legal perspective. The conference will also address ways in which lawyers can work to make a difference on this subject of grave concern to our well-being and future.
Speakers include: U.S. Senator Ed Markey, U.S. Rep. Ted Deutch, and Prof. Michael Mann
Topics Include: The Green New Deal, Carbon Pricing as a Key Solution, Legal Pathways to Deep Decarbonization, Voluntary/Market-based Decarbonization Initiatives, and How Can You Take Action on the Climate Crisis

Amateur naturalists have been indispensable to scientific research throughout history in the study and documentation of Earth’s biodiversity. The creation of The New York Botanical Garden—and the programs of study that followed—helped lay the foundation of the field of ecology in America, and now connect legions of people to plants through public participation, incorporating a unique humanities approach. Event is free but requires preregistration. NYBG Grounds Admission for those preregistered will also be free.

Join the New York Botanical Garden for the Fourth Annual Citizen Science Day, a nationally organized event to increase awareness of citizen science and help volunteers discover projects that contribute to the documentation of Earth’s biodiversity. Take action with a wide range of activities, including bird, phenology, and urban naturalist tours, and so much more.

Bronx Celebration day is a collaboration between Fordham University and the local community that aims to celebrate and share the rich history and culture of the Bronx! We are inviting Fordham students and community members to come together as neighbors to support local food vendors, learn about community organizations and cultural groups, and enjoy entertainment from both the Bronx and Fordham communities. It will be an opportunity to meet your neighbors, tour Fordham's campus, discover new opportunities, and above all, come together to celebrate the borough we all call home.

The Content Innovation Analytics team at Viacom has a fantastic opportunity for an entry-level position. This role will be 50/50, split between the administrative duties of an Executive Assistant and the functions of a Research Analyst.
