At COTS Youth we aim to be real in our faith, have fun, & meet each person where they are.
Every youth can belong.

No Youth Group Tonight

When:   TODAY - Friday, March 29.

Why:    It's NOT that we don't love you!  Our leadership crew is light today, though, so we will pick up next week.

What's Coming Up?

Easter Egg Hunt

Friday, April 5, 7:00 - 9:00 pm
This could be inside.  It could be outside.  Either way - even though it's a "kid" thing - it's still fun.

Ultimate Chicken

Friday, April 12, 7:00 - 9:00 pm
It's as wrong as a bearded chicken, and much more interesting.  Designed by Mr Leonard, this is a brilliant mashup of ultimate frisbee....and rubber chickens.

Created by God Retreat

(registration req'd by 4/7)

Friday, April 12, 6:00 pm -
Saturday, April 13, 9:00 pm
For all 5th & 6th graders and their parents. Created by God is a study of human sexuality with a Christian foundation.  It offers youth and parents an opportunity to learn, grow, and celebrate the fact that we have each been wonderfully created by God, and are called to responsible living as sexual beings.  Sounds a bit awkward, but it's good.  Parent participation is required.  Lots more info and registration here.
Online COTS Child/Youth Medical Info & Permission Slip
A completed COTS Medical Info & Permission Slip is required for each youth and is valid for the school year.  Please help us by having friends' parents complete the waiver.

Something to Think About....

Some folks have an aversion to work.  Some folks have an aversion to not-work.  Some are a mix.  Some, it depends on the work..

Remember the Sabbath day and treat it as holy. Six days you may work and do all your tasks, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God.
--- Exodus 20:8-10a (CEB)

As a kid I watched Charlton Heston as Moses in the movie The Ten Commandments.  One of the commandments was about the Sabbath and keeping it Holy.  I interpreted that as don't do work you don't want to do.  Maybe that could sometimes be it.  But what if we placed more emphasis on "to the Lord your God" piece?  I've got to admit, I don't think I've ever set aside an entire day of rest for God.

Take a minute to talk with God about what it might look like to take Sabbath to the Lord?  What if it were just an afternoon, or an hour?  What would it "cost" you?  What do you stand to gain from it?
