Delishia Porterfield has defeated Nick La Mattina in a special election runoff to fill the open Antioch-area Metro Council seat when former Council member Karen Johnson was elected the Davidson County Register of Deeds.
Porterfield and La Mattina advanced from a field of four in the special election in last month.
According to Election Commission return:
- Porterfield: 561 votes
- La Mattina: 536 votes.
Porterfield is a 36-year-old special education coach at Metro Nashville Public Schools who oversees programming at six schools. Porterfield, a licensed minister, said she sits on the board of directors for Ignite Her Pursuit and Empowerment Inc. in Antioch as well as Destiny Theater Experience.
