Dear TLS Parents & Friends:

Today (March 29) is the deadline for the $100 re-enrollment deposit. While it is a “soft deadline,” it bears mentioning that this deposit is necessary to ensure your child's spot on the roster for the 2019-2020 school year. If your re-enrollment is complete, but extenuating circumstances prevent you from paying the deposit at this time, please let me know ASAP. Here is the re-enrollment information for the 2019-2020 school year.

Enrollment at TLS is now open. We currently have an advertisement for our school on Facebook: here is the post. We'd be grateful if you'd share it around, especially with any parents who you know might be interested in a classical Christian education for their children.

Your reminders for the next two weeks are below. Nota Bene!
➢ Monday, April 1 - Friday, April 5: Spring Break

Res ipsa loquitur; “The thing speaks for itself.” Enjoy this time off as a family!

➢ Monday, April 1: Chick-Fil-A

If you're still in town for Spring Break, remember to support TLS at Chick-Fil-A on Monday, April 1! Tell the good folks at the Windmill Road location that you are with Trinity, and they will donate a percentage of your purchase to our school.

➢ Wednesday, April 3: Lenten Midweek Service

Trinity's next Lenten midweek service will be held on Wednesday, April 3, at 7:00 PM, with a light meal beforehand at 6:o0 PM. Lenten midweek suppers and services will be held at the same time every Wednesday through April 10. All are welcome!

➢ Saturday, April 6: Lutheran Inquiry Class

On Saturday, April 6, Pastor Baikie will continue teaching the Lutheran Inquiry & Adult Instruction class in the Trinity Lutheran Church undercroft. It's free, and an intention to join the Lutheran Church is not a pre-requisite. We meet on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month from 3:30 to 4:45 PM. After each class participants are invited to come see and hear Lutheran theology “in action” at Trinity’s 5:00 PM evening divine service. More information here.

➢ Calendar Update for 2019-2020 School Year

The Trinity Board of Christian Day School has approved a significant adjustment to the 2019-2020 Academic Calendar: our first day of school will be Tuesday, September 3, 2019, and our last day of school will be Friday, May 29, 2020. In order to keep the number of days-in-session in the 2019-2020 school year roughly equivalent to previous years, the following adjustments have been made:
  • The week of the Wyoming District LCMS Teachers Conference (October 7-11) will be a partial week of school (W-F) rather than Fall Break, as in years past. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.
  • TLS will be in session on MLK/Equality Day (Monday, January 20, 2020).
The dates of Summer Daycare have been adjusted to reflect this change. Registration Day will still be Thursday, August 8. Additional details will be made available before the 2018-2019 school year draws to a close.

➢ 2019 Summer Daycare Contracts

Your child will be bringing home the 2019 Summer Daycare Contract for you to peruse and return if you plan on enrolling your children in TLS Summer Daycare. You may also access a PDF copy here or pick up a copy from the literature rack in the main school hallway. Completed enrollment forms and signed contracts are due by Friday, May 20. Please note that the deposit must be paid at the time of enrollment.

➢ Tuition Assistance for 2019-2020 School Year

The 2019 Application for Tuition Assistance is now available. You can access it here or pick up a copy from Mr. Demarest or Mrs. Gondek. All grant requests must be turned in to the TLS Headmaster's office by Saturday, June 1, in order to be considered for the 2019-2020 school year. Applications which are incomplete and/or do not include the required documents will not be considered.

➢ Outside Scholarship Opportunity

TLS families are eligible to apply for the need-based Ace Scholarship. From the organization's website:
ACE Scholarships was founded in Colorado in 2000 to provide these low-income parents with school choice for their families through partial scholarships to K-12 private schools.

ACE serves children whose families qualify for the federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program. The median income for our ACE families is $32,000 a year.

In the 2017-18 school year we’ll be awarding over $1M in scholarships to low-income Wyoming families helping to send nearly 200 kids to the schools their families have decided are right for them.
Visit the Ace Scholarships website to learn more.
