Auditions

Magnum Opus is launching a Trainee Program, accepting applications now!
The program will further develop dancer's technique while being mentored artistically and spiritually by the Trainee Director. The trainee schedule offers: ballet technique, pointe, contemporary, and choreography class. Dancers will also train alongside the company on a weekly basis and have the opportunity to perform in every major company production. Artistic Director, Abigail Henninger, will consider trainee dancers for apprentice positions with the company at the end of each season. This program is designed for high school graduates and up. For detailed information visit www.magnumopusballet.org

Kanopy Dance Auditions

Kanopy auditions for professional modern/ballet dancers for upcoming seasons. To inquire: email us your name, phone, email, resume, photo, and video clip (if available) to info@kanopydance.org.

Come learn about our 4 team options in the 2019-2020 season for boys & girls ages 4-15 in Waukesha County. There will be 3 competition team options: Nuggets (NEW), Petite & Select and 1 performance team option: Stars for the Gold Attitude Dance Team organization. All four of our teams help prepare dancers to gain skills, technique and tricks for the high school level. Ms. Kim will explain the expected costs, practices, competitions, expectations and requirements for all four team options. Interested dancers and at least one parent should attend to receive COMPLETE information packets about the new evaluation (audition) process for all teams. Interested dancers can also request info through our Registration tab on the team website at http://goldattitudewi.wixsite.com/home/registration.

Contact Ms. Kim at goldattitudewi@yahoo.com if you have any questions.

Synergy Dance Team Assessments

May 11, 2019
10:00-10:45 - Junior and Teen Team (ages 7-12)
11:00-11:45 - Senior Team (ages 13+)
$10 fee for all dancers

Dancers will be asked to do ballet and jazz so please dress accordingly.  Returning Team members do not need to be assessed.  If your dancer is interested in joining our Teams and is unable to attend the assessment please let Kari know so we can set up an individual assessment at kari@synergydancemadison.com.

Our goal for our team programs is to give as many dancers as possible the opportunity to experience the benefits of participating on a team:   leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, friendship, passion and most of all – FUN!

SENIOR AND JUNIOR PERFORMANCE TEAMS
Our SENIOR PERFORMANCE TEAM is for 13+ and our JUNIOR PERFORMANCE TEAM is for ages 7-12. We recognize that dancers and their families are very busy with school activities, sports, school dance teams, community programs and family obligations.  For this reason, we offer a PERFORMANCE TEAM option for dancers who would like a little more from their dance training but just can’t commit to a standard studio dance team.
PERFORMANCE TEAM participant’s time and cost commitment is considerably less than the Synergy COMPETITIVE Team Members but still pushes the dancer to work toward a unified goal with other dancers.  PERFORMANCE Members will ONLY participate at local competitions and will not be required to travel to any away competitions/conventions.

SENIOR, TEEN AND JUNIOR COMPETITIVE DANCE TEAMS
Our JUNIOR COMPETITIVE TEAM is for dancers ages 7-11, our TEEN COMPETITIVE TEAM is for dancers ages 11-14 and our SENIOR COMPETITIVE TEAM is for dancers 13 and up.  These are loose guidelines, we place dancers based on ability and maturity.  Dancers who participate on our SENIOR AND TEEN TEAMS will travel regionally and to Nationals in Florida in July.  JUNIOR TEAM members travel regionally, and based on what pieces they participate in may or may not travel to Florida.

As a performer, she is described as a “clean and efficient mover,” and having “toughness under her grace.” In her processes, tasks inspire poetic movement, game theory finds logical, yet often unexpected phrasing, and athletic dancing is paired with deep intentionality. Her choreographic work has been featured at the World Dance Alliance Festival in Honolulu, Hawaii, Danceworks in Milwaukee, WI, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where she was an artist in residence in 2014 and “The Bubbler” at the Madison Public Library where she was the artist in residences in the summer of 2018. In the Spring of 2018, Sexe set her first work on Kanopy 2. She is so grateful for the opportunity to work with the talented dancers of Kanopy Dance Company.
