Roadrunner Speaks Vol 6.2

Greetings Burners! Your local Roadrunner here, with the latest news for the New Mexico region. Lots to impart, keep hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times; here we go!

Ostara was wildly successful, pulling in a net total of about $1300 towards art grants and future projects.  We can't thank you enough for your support!  And that limo is SMASHED! Thank you everyone who took a swing, donated, performed, helped clean up, too many people to mention but big shout out to the Art Department for an amazing night.

Church Night returns on Saturday, April 20th, 6:00pm at LivLab Studios (420 Haines NW, Albuquerque).  We are celebrating and recognizing the artists who received SunBurn art grants. Enjoy a chill evening with SunBurn friends, meet our Leads, & get involved.  We still need volunteers for SunBurn (more below) and this is an excellent opportunity to meet everyone!  This is also a potluck function, so please consider bringing food or refreshments and of course your friends.

On that note, we had a spectacular response of artists who are bringing art projects to SunBurn in our first art grant cycle.  Thank you all who contributed.  We also still have art grant funds, and we want to see your ART!!  If you have existing art, please register it so we can have you placed & on the WWWW.  If you need some assistance getting your art to SunBurn or completing your project, we are conducting another second art grant cycle, again looking to match your own projection contributions up to 50%.  Round 2 starts April 20th and closes May 15th. Don't delay your planning, bring that art to SunBurn!  Register today!

LOGO CONTEST!

SunBurn needs a new logo!  In an effort to move away from a "traditional," culturally appropriated image, we'd like to discourage the "usual" signs of New Mexico, most especially the Zia sun.

Email submissions to art@nmsunburn.com.  Submissions will close and voting will open 5/1.
This event is not possible without your Volunteerism!

Volunteering is a great way to meet people and learn about everything that goes into creating an event like SunBurn, or spend some time with a new department you're curious to learn more about.  Our volunteer needs are currently about 850 hours, so if every pARTicipant commits to 3 hours in the do-acracy, we'll be able to satisfy these needs and more.  These hours are mapped out in the volunteer database at: https://volunteer.nmspf90.com/event/5

Set up your user account, review the needs for the departments you want to support, then sign up for shifts you can commit to. Commit to a minimum of 6 hours in order to qualify for the Direct Group Sale (DGS) for volunteers!  It's super simple, and more volunteer opportunities will be added, so we encourage you to sign up then check back for additional opportunities to dial in.

(Yes, you will be required to show up for the shift and perform the designated duties, and your attendance will be noted and used for consideration of future opportunities and rewards. Like, hopefully, DGS tickets again next year!)

Thanks again,
Mama Fox

Please send your volunteer related questions to the department lead, or to Volunteer Coordinator Mama Fox at volunteers@nmsunburn.com.

Theme Camp Registration is open!

The Theme Camp Registration form provides us with the information needed for SunBurn Placement to best - you guessed it - place registered theme camps and determine their footprint and needs. COMPLETE THIS FORM ONLY IF YOU ARE A THEME CAMP'S LEAD. Every theme camp amp needs a designated camp lead. Camp leads need to be someone that placement and other necessary leads (SOUND/LNT/ART DEPT) can communicate with directly, can coordinate with their team, and be available for set-up.
