Dear Parents and Students,
April is the time of year when we focus intently on preparation for the year-end production. We are one of the few studios who teach children the classical full-length ballets. As you know, this year we are presenting Don Quixote which is a lively, fun ballet loved by all who see it. Every class in the studio with the exception of the Teen Ballet and Adult classes will be participating in the production. As you can imagine, this requires enormous coordination of music, lighting, staging, costumes, etc. It is imperative that students please arrive early for classes and be prepared to retain the choreography they are learning. It is helpful for children to demonstrate what they have learned at home and your help in this matter is most appreciated. Remember to SAVE THE DATE - June 15th for the year-end production.
Thank you for the privilege we have to teach your children the art of Ballet!
Also, thank you so much for making on-time tuition payments and the
ballet buns are looking beautiful!

Missing Clothes identified! please check our rack in the lobby and pick up what is yours. We have noticed several items being left behind each day. Please have your student make sure they leave with the items they came with. Some of these items are beautiful pieces of clothing you may have missed.

Costume and Props Update
We are super excited to announce our newest Volunteer Leader assigned to the Costume Coordinator Role. Denise Dreiling has been a long time supporter of ABS and has consistently helped where needed. Her son, Cole is in the Pre-Professional level group. Denise has already put her master touch on this critical role and we are grateful. She will be posting updates in the newsletters. If you are interested in helping with costumes, please let the front desk know. Or if you would like a tour of the costume nook, that can be arranged as well. We are always looking for tailors, seamstresses and designers to help.
Denise's Weekly Update:
As Spring Break finishes, our ABS performance is quickly approaching. This week the Costume Nook continues to get organized and labeled with all the accessories that add to a costume. Forms are starting to be created for ease in assigning and returning items for performances. Costumes are starting to be ordered. Please be sure your child’s measurements have been handed in so their costume can get ordered. Watch for fitting dates.

ABS has an active chapter of the NHSDA. This is a great organization that strives to offer equal opportunity and access to quality dance arts education and recognize outstanding artistic merit, leadership and academic achievement in the field of dance. Currently, ABS has a secondary level for 9th to 12th-grade students. We are opening enrollment for those students who are currently in pre-professional level as they should have met most of the criteria and enrollment requirements. However, they need to be completed and handed in by April 15th. Please see the NHSDA website or use a tracking worksheet. ABS plans to open an additional chapter for grades in 6-8 in the fall. Watch for a future update on which of our students will be inducted into the program.

Tampa City Ballet (TCB) Update
The mission of TCB is to Serve our Community and this month they have been showing our community that dance can touch the lives of people all ages and stages. They performed at the Ybor Fiesta to a wonderful crowd, Mitchell Elementary School to a sweet group of elementary children and were loved by Legacy at Highwoods Preserve assisted living community. As TCB prepares for their next production, we are looking for business sponsors. If you can help spread the word, we would be most appreciative.
