  • We're celebrating new church plants: Victorville Russian; Las Vegas Russian; Victorville Slavic; and Victorville Hispanic. We developing plans for a Korean Church Planting Initiative in San Diego, a South Asian congregation in Mira Mesa, and an Anglo preaching point in Barstow.
  • Norman Moore Ministry Partners and Friends including the SoCal District recently provided vans for El Centro (2) and 29-Palms.
  • We've hired Rev. Wink Davis as assistant District Superintendent, a credentialed full-time position.  Davis will continue to serve at Wildomar COTN. I'm excited about this administrative addition and his already-evident expertise.

Rev Wink Davis: Assistant District Superintendent

NYC2019 -- Phoenix
Over 8,000 Nazarene teenagers gather in Phoenix, AZ last week. The theme is Love God - Love Others - Serve Love - Love Lived. The event was amazing. The surrounding community and police commented, "best student group in 15 years." Below are some message summaries.
  • WORSHIP: Amena Brown (John 4:7-8) Maybe Jesus is a Hip Hop DJ -- taking our mishmash and making it into something altogether more.
  • SURRENDER: Rev. Stretch Dean (Romans12:1-2). When a gambler is dealt a hand that cannot be beaten, responds confidently with, "I'm all in."  Some play the "churchy" game of life, presuming they have done enough despite their continual "toilet plunger" lifestyle. Drop that business. Realize Jesus offers you the winning hand, go "all in."  "A full, surrendered life requires a full embrace of Jesus!"  Are you done with the games? Are you "all in"?
  • SERVE Danielle Strickland (Mark 10:41-15). Faithful service begins when we see the world through the lens of God's love. Moving beyond our delimiting compartmentalization, we must understand all are worthy objects of God's love. The world doesn't need to know its wrong. It needs to know the radical love of God is for real. If you can get this love, it will change EVERYTHING you do. You need to know this love is for real!
  • CHURCH: Justin Skeesuck and Patrick Gray (1 John 4:7-12). Both embark on a 500-mile walk over Camino de Santigo trail.  However, Justin is a wheel-chair bound quadriplegic. The immense challenges they face together as friends demonstrate the high quality of a Christ-centered encouraging community throughout life's journey. As people of God, others are looking to you to be a source of love, grace, and community.  It changes everything!
  • HOLINESS: Dr. Shawna Songer Gaines (Psalm 51). Gaines confronts the erroneous concept that sin is necessarily characteristic of what is human. Created in God's image, sin makes one less human. The world is messed up, and it is our fault! Reviewing King David's unraveling of God's creation, his conviction of his participatory undoing of that good, and his Nathan/Divine-instigated conviction, Gaines stresses that confession (like David's) is the beginning of our undoing of the entangling power of sin on our lives.  Holiness is being made new in God's love and image of Jesus Christ. What have you entangled up and less human? Release it through the power of the Holy Spirit and receive the gift of God's love called Holiness.
  • CALLED: Dr. Gus Crocker (Mark 2:1-5). Noting the importunateness of four that brings one to Jesus despite the impediment of a crowd, so is God calling those who understand this urgency of reaching the lost and will utilize whatever crazy method is necessary.  The real handicapped, the real broken in this world are those whom Jesus is not at home, is not comfortable living inside them. Is Jesus at home in you? If so, are you called to reach the lost?
  • GO: Eric Samual Tim. We as Christ-Followers are to live love.  As plane that needs thrust under its fixed two wings to fly, so the arms of loving God and loving others needs the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to live that love beyond the gravitational pull of anxiety and sin.

Norman Moore Ministry Partners & Friends Gift Vans
EL CENTRO Van(s) and 29-Palms Van.  Partners and friends gave thirty-seven contributions to help with the ministries of Rev Sergio and Rev. Rosa Estrada in El Centro and Mexicali and with Rev. Steve Webb in 29 Palms. Norman connected with Mark Dakan of Inland Boat Center (Perris) who felt privileged to help with the project, and he bid for a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan.  Norman was surprised to learn that the purchase price was $7,143, a thousand dollars less than anticipated. Also, it was a government auction and thence, tax-free.  The dealer took care of the license and paperwork.  Inspired by what had happened, Jim Miller decided to give a 2004 seven-passenger Express Van Conversions, with 130,000 miles for use in Estrada's ministries. That spurred the interest and response of Mary Hemp to gift a 1999 Ford Windstar Van with 102,000 to 29 Palms where Pastor Steve and Peggie Webb serve.  The extra funds offset the ministry, maintenance, insurance, gas, and necessary repairs. The SoCal District Advisory Board responded with $4000.
