Estimates are relative

I wrote a short observation on the blog: Estimates are relative. I realized that you don't have to assign numerical estimates. Sometimes it makes sense to just compare tasks.

The most interesting article is Should You Always Strive to Work at the Most ‘Prestigious’ Places? Well …

Small fish in a big pond? Or big fish in a small pond?

It's a hard question. You have two offers. One from a small company. Another from a big organization. Which one should you choose?

Turns out there is another question worth asking. Is the organization growing? It's best to join a small organization that's growing so you could grow with it.

What I'm reading

  • Stand Firm: Resisting the Self-Improvement Craze by Svend Brinkmann. If you would show the previous link to the author. He would ask why do you strive so hard? Why do you want to grow so much? I'm reading it because of the recommendation. While I'm still in the middle. I find the critical view inspiring. It's easy to stay in self-improvement bubble and forget about the basics. Highly recommended. It's short as well :)
  • Einstein: His Life and Universe by Walter Isaacson. I've read a couple of chapters so far. But, it's way easier to wrap my head around his theories now. I realize now, that it took him years to create them. Seeing them in chronological order helps as well.
