Join Us April 14 for Buddhist Wisdom

Remember "Everything I Need to Know About God I Learned from My Dog" earlier this month? That was the launch of our "Second Sundays at the Center" series, and we're so glad you could join us for that event. It was a hit!

In April, we're doing it again: Sunday, April 14 at 5:00 p.m. at Elk Haven Wellness Center in Brevard. We will gather at 5:00 for informal conversation and light snacks, then welcome our guest speaker at 5:30 for a half-hour presentation, followed by questions, answers and conversation. We wrap it up and say goodbye at 6:30.

This time, our speaker is Amy Goldweber, Director of the Heartwood Refuge Retreat Center in Hendersonville, N.C. She will offer a personal perspective on the topic Buddhist Wisdom for Non-Buddhists.

CSW Director Rob Field met Amy when he called Heartwood Buddhist Center to ask for someone to come and speak about Buddhism to students in his World Religions class at Brevard College. Without hesitation, Amy replied, "I can do that!" She was extremely well received, and Rob knew Amy would be a great person to make a "Second Sundays" presentation.

As with all our Second Sundays gatherings, there is no charge to attend, and all are welcome. (Please forward this to anyone you know who might be interested in coming.) Donations will be gladly accepted at the door, and donors at the $20 or higher level will be offered a thank-you in the form of a glass of organic Green Heart Juice or a gluten-free, all-natural Reason to Bake cookie. Yum and yum! Both are hand crafted in the Elk Haven kitchen.
