Our New Volunteer Portal is Live!
A note from the Director of SOS:

Dear <<First Name>>

Change has come, and it is for the better!  We have come a long way since we started with SOS, taking over 400 travelers abroad to 14 countries, and serving over 10,000 hours in San Antonio; and we have just hit a new milestone by launching our web-portal

This means that you can now:

  • track your hours anytime, on your own
  • generate your own service resume
  • track your economic impact
  • register for events, right through the portal, without waiting for the newsletter

Starting TODAY, we will no longer use Google Docs to sign up for events, but will instead use this portal. Notice the Volunteer Opportunities section of this newsletter is now just a summary, and the details are on the portal.

You should have already received an email about setting up your account. You should be able to follow the instructions in that email to claim your account based on the email you have used in the past to volunteer with SOS. All of your previous service hours have been or will be transferred over to the portal.

We have encountered a few issues that need to be resolved. There have been some volunteers that have, over the years, signed up for volunteer events and have used DIFFERENT email addresses. There are also volunteers that have SOS siblings and have all volunteered using the SAME email address.

If you fall into one of these two categories, please email ruwani@sossanantonio.org so that we can fix your account.

In your email, please state which email you would like your account to fall under. Thank you for volunteering with SOS!

We are so excited to be rolling out this new portal for you because we know it has so many awesome features!

With gratitude,

Amir Samandi

The Big Give Results Are In!
Thursday, March 28th was The Big Give, and thanks to you, we were able to raise over $1,300! (We are still awaiting totals from Shake Shack on food orders.) It was an amazing day, and we had a wonderful time hanging out with all of you at Shake Shack. As always, the money you helped us raise will go right back into helping our SOS students realize their service projects and scholarships. Thank you to everyone who donated to our Big Give campaign; we can't do any of this without you.

Fiesta Medals as a fundraiser!

If you are interested in selling Fiesta Medals as a fundraiser, please contact us at info@sossanantonio.org and we can get you started.

Feel like you've got something to say and just need a place to say it? Join youth from across the City of San Antonio to talk about what matters most and the changes you want to see in your community. Not only will you get a chance to dive deep on issues impacting you and your peers, you will have an opportunity to share your thoughts with Mayor Ron Nirenberg. This event, designed by youth in partnership with Say Sí and MOVETX is packed with fun, connection, and inspiration.
We'd be honored if you'd wear your SOS shirts to the event to represent!
Note: this is a community event through UP Partnership. SOS may not have a site supervisor present.
