Aura Minerals/MINOSA (Canadian-U.S. Company) and Honduran pólice fire bullets and tear-gas at Community defenders, set fire to forest round Azacualpa community and cemetery
On March 30, 2019, Honduran pólice – on behalf Aura Minerals/MINOSA – repressed local Community defenders and set fire to community forests by Azacualpa cemetery and Community. Police were shooting warning shots and tear-gas canisters at dozens of community members, even as they were trying to put out the fire started by the police.
Cemetery destruction, forced evictions, bullet casings and tear gas canisters – the global mining industry at work in Honduras.
