Prayer Requests:

There have already been some huge obstacles that God has helped us overcome with planning this conference in Thailand.  Would you pray that he would continue to go before us and that we would be faithful in trusting him as we face challenges.

Pray specifically that the current flood threats in Thailand would not affect travel, accomodations, internet connectivity or meeting space for MinistryNet.

Pray that those traveling from countries around the world would have safe travel with no complications.

Pray that all of the equipment and materials will arrive safely and on time.

Pray that as a result of this conference that thousands of people would hear the Gospel and become disciples of Christ.

Cheryl's family will be staying with Anna and Ellie in Orlando while we are traveling.  Pray that this would be a good time for all.

MinistryNet Bangkok 2011

“In Campus Crusade over the past 15 or 20 years we have been able to learn how to lead people to Christ using internet technologies… what we have not been able to figure out though, is how to move from decisions to disciples,”
Keith Seabourn
Chief Technology Officer for CCC
and founder of MinistryNet in 2005.

The MinistryNet: Bangkok 2011 conference will focus on brainstorming ways to use technology resources to build disciples from people who have indicated decisions for Christ. The conference will also concentrate on how social media fits in with the vision that everyone would know someone who is a true follower of Jesus.

"Our world has dramatically changed since the first MinistryNet was held in Budapest in 2005. In 2005, Mark Zuckerburg had not received venture capital for Facebook, Twitter was a rarely used word in the English language, and Youtube had just registered their domain name. In 2005, wireless connections weren’t on every computer, and the idea of devices like an iPhone or an iPad were just that…ideas.  In 2005 we focused on the visits to our websites and how many emails we received. In 2011, those simple measurements are increasingly becoming obsolete as we watch videos become “viral” and embrace the fact that many university students around the world no longer utilize email to communicate with their friends. It is with a desire to adapt to this ever changing environment, that we are planning MinistryNet: Bangkok 2011.   We will gather together with a desire to leverage the best of our collective wisdom by learning and collaborating in order to help fulfill the Great Commission."
Rich Street
Co-Director MinistryNet 2011

Cheryl and I are excited to be a part of MinistryNet this year.  This will be our first international ministry trip together!   About 200 people from around the globe will be joining us in Thailand in about 3 weeks.  Steve will be helping to make it possible for hundreds more to join in by watching and interacting through the internet. The team we're apart of has already been preparing for months to work out the details for this conference.  Cheryl just completed the initial housing list and has been working on the finances and ordering materials that we will be taking.  As Cheryl put together the housing list she noticed that there are at least a dozen different languages represented (russian, polish, korean, chinese, french, spanish, arabic, english, hungarian, etc...).  We're excited to see what God does as he brings everyone together to collaborate about how to share Christ and build disciples around the world.

Would you consider financially partnering with us as we serve through the MinistryNet Conference?  We need to raise about $2200 to cover our travel and immunizations for this conference.   Give online / Give by mail.

We'd love to hear from you.  Please let us know how we can be praying for you.
