The 8th European Summit of Regions and Cities, held in Bucharest on 14-15 March, gathered almost 1,000 EU, national, local and regional leaders from across Europe. One of the major outcomes was a declaration on the future of Europe to share the regions' voices ahead of the European elections and ​the next term of office of the EU institutions.
DEMOCRACY ALIVE

AER is delighted to be a DEMOCRACY ALIVE co-organiser and to have a pavilion at the festival where we will host a number of exciting events. Click on the link above to find out more!

Inspired by the Nordic tradition of democracy festivals, DEMOCRACY ALIVE will encourage civic engagement and increase interest in European democracy, taking place from 11-13 April 2019.

With Food, Innovation and Health as key topics, the seminar ‘Food for Action!’ A regional approach to innovating food systems showcased an exemplary opportunity for regions to share how they innovate food systems to achieve nutrition.

Call for European Heritage Stories

AER is enthusiastic to share with its members this funding opportunity that fits so well in the landscape and actions that we are focusing on.

On 13-18th March, more than 120 young participants from all over Europe gathered in Paris, Île de France, for the launch of #IChooseEurope Youth Exchange. The atmosphere during the 5-day event was visibly marked by a common conviction around the ideal of a more united and stronger Europe.

2019 AER Summer Academy – Novi Sad, Serbia
 
On the occasion of its hosting of the 2019 European Youth Capital, the AER Summer Academy will take place in Novi Sad, Vojvodina (RS) from 1-6 July 2019. This year’s theme is “Youth is future, youth is Europe” in the wake of the 2019 Elections to the European Parliament.
