First steps in 2 months!
Apologies for not sending a newsletter last month (and for not updating the website). Alissa had a motorcycle crash in Nepal and severely fractured her leg, leading to an operation and 2 weeks in a Nepalese hospital. We're now back in the UK while Alissa recovers.
It’s been a long 10 weeks since the crash and Alissa's been in a wheelchair the entire time... but we finally had some good news yesterday! It looks like the bones in Alissa’s leg have started to fuse back together and she can now start partial weight bearing for the first time and begin physio.
We’re hoping she’ll be walking unaided by September (but of course, we’re in no rush).
We’re disappointed the year hasn’t gone to plan, but Man plans, God laughs… The new plan is to get walking and be back on the road sometime in November. The question is… which road?
In the meantime, I’ll be flying back to Japan in a couple of weeks to collect our motorbike from Tokyo, take it to South Korea and ship it somewhere before the Japanese temporary import runs out…
Happy travels and thanks for sticking with us,
Andy and Alissa
