MENTORSHIP | COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Youth Heaven Studio Visit
February 12, 2019

Youth Haven offers a safe habor for traumatized, abused, neglected, and homeless children. Numerous community sources refer children for shelter at Youth Haven including child protective services, courts, families needing respite, or even the children themselves.
However, the solution to their problems is not simply providing temporary shelter. It is providing youth with the resources they need to improve their resiliency so that they may grow into happy, healthy. productive adults.

The studio hosted a couple of the most talented kids from Youth Haven to a introductory project for the students to work on during the visit to help them grasp the artist’s trade, the image above was the end result of the day and a work in progress.

PLEIN-AIR PAINTING EVENT AND AUCTION

Third on Canvas 2019
February 18-19-21, 2019

Third on Canvas 2019. Each February, carefully chosen artists paint the wonderful buildings, original cottages, fountains, plazas, and courtyards of the Third Street South area including the beaches, The Pier, Crayton Cove and The City Docks which surround it. Watch the artists bring scenes to life and then attend the auction to bid on your favorites. Wander the stores and visit the restaurants or take a moment in the courtyards near the fountains.  Painting Days were February 18 - 19, 2019 and the Auction Party was February 21, 2019 at the Naples Beach Hotel.  Monies benefit PAWS Assistance Dogs which provides service dogs at no cost for veterans and children with disabilities and Friends of Foster Children Forever provides targeted educational and enrichment opportunities that allow each child to fulfill his or her potential.

The following work was created solely during the painting days and hours of the event.
