Alerts and Advocacy 
Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez (NY) will be introducing the Liver Illness Visibility, Education, and Research (LIVER) Act of 2019, which includes provisions to fund liver cancer and liver disease research and prevention programs.

Hep B United is requesting sign-on in support of the LIVER Act of 2019, and to be included in a Dear Colleague letter to Members of Congress for co-sponsorship. Deadline is May 10th at 5 PM ET.  Questions? Contact Kate Moraras, kate.moraras@hepb.org.
New York State Hepatitis C Elimination Task Force Update

Since last Fall, Hep C Elimination Task Force members have been participating in workgroups to develop recommendations on: Prevention, Testing and Linkage to Care, Care and Treatment Access, Social Determinants of Health, and Surveillance and Data Metrics. The Task Force will meet in Albany to finalize their recommendations on June 4, 2019.
